So friends Why me? My name is ‘Buckin’ Billy Ray Smith. Why should you listen to what I think is a good axe for splitting firewood? Well, I’m not much for selling my ideas. More of an action man. There are several videos on my YouTube channel. You can see me busting wood and chopping trees down with axes. So when it comes to an axe profile and balance, an “everything AXE” I feel right at home talking about it. I grew up in Cedar, British Columbia, Vancouver Island. Raised by my mother, we lived on 5 acres of timbered property in a house with a wood stove as the only source of heat. Getting wood was not for fun , it was a necessity. Axes for us were just a tool that helped keep us warm. Years later after graduating high school I got into the workforce, I was not a school boy. It didn’t take long at a few dead- end jobs for the call of the bush to be loud enough for me to follow my dream of makin’ my livin’ with a power saw and axes. The journey began. Buckin’ Billy Ray’s Tree Service was born. Now, At 52 years old I can honestly say I’ve had an axe in my hands for as long as I was aloud to use one.45 years I reckon. And this year will be 25 years in business with axes and a power saw And between selling firewood and my personal wood and others I look after . 500 cords split by hand wood be a conservative number. In closing, axes are part of who I am. Nowadays I split wood to exercise my body , mind and spirit. The research and development that has gone into the ‘wood bullet’ is hard to fathom. So, why me ? I heard somewhere once , your better to be really good at one thing .. than just ok at a bunch of things. I chose the Wood Man route . Axes and power saw are the life for me. Be kind ., Buckin’
